BilingualLife for first time in Corfu2019-07-26T13:04:56+03:00

BilingualLife

BilingualLife is a Preprimary Bilingual Education Programme which helps children become bilingual naturally through play at an early age.

It is quite popular abroad as well as in Greece, and is now made available in Corfu for the first time by Corfu-based Educational Services Plus.

WHAT IS BilingualLife

It is a universal programme that gives every child the opportunity to become bilingual and to enjoy the benefits of bilingualism.

BRAIN DEVELOPMENT

Children who become bilingual early in life can find solutions to problems more easily and faster because their brains are open to new ideas.

ECONOMIC GROWTH

Young bilinguals are highly sought after in the business world, and their financial gains are often much higher than average.

CULTURAL UNDERSTANDING

Bilingual children grow into more flexible, culturally inclusive adults.

Purpose of the Programme

BilingualLife aims to enable all children to become bilingual by the age of seven so that they can become independent, bilingual students.

Children’s brains are designed to learn many languages easily from birth until the age of seven. After that critical period, this “language gate” in the brain “closes”, so language acquisition is no longer natural, but instead relies on logical processing and rule memorization.

The age of seven is the beginning of the end for natural language acquisition, so it is important that children start early.

Parents’ contribution

With BilingualLife, parents do not have to be able to teach or speak English.
Their role is to share, support and encourage. Many parents learn together with their children through BilingualLife’s “You learn, I learn” approach.

Learning Materials

BilingualLife learners will become familiar with the sounds and basic grammatical and syntactical structures of the English language, and will also acquire basic vocabulary and communication skills relevant to their preschool age.

Throughout their lives they will acquire vocabulary faster, learn to read English more easily, and have an overall smoother learning curve when it comes to the English language.

As a result, they will be able to access more information in English earlier as they become bilingual readers and speakers, thus saving themselves precious time and effort later.
